What: The new Google Local Business Center, basically “connecting Place Pages — the way that businesses are found — with the tool that enables business owners to manage their presence on Google. [Google Places allows merchants to] verify and supplement their business information to include hours of operation, photos, videos, coupons, product offerings and more. It also lets them communicate with customers and get insights that help them make smart business decisions.

Google Commerce Connections:
-Google Places does not work off of the Google Merchant Center data feed. It’s the only Google Commerce product on this site which I’ll discuss which doesn’t directly have a tie into Google Merchant Center. However, Google Places accepts a data feed, aka bulk upload. And I have to believe that these two data feeds will eventually play nice together.
